Welcome to Songbird Birth Services!
I'm Naomi Ignas -- a Childbirth Educator, birth consultant, lactation support specialist, and bereavement guide. My aim is to educate, inform, and support families in the life of their little ones, from pre-conception through postpartum.
I'm a mom to a toddler who was born at home, but my passion in birth began when I was only 11: I stumbled upon a midwifery book in the library and have been in love with all things birth ever since. As a Birth Doula, I have attended births both at home and in the hospital, and I understand the differences in dynamics in both settings.
Birth education is my passion: I truly believe that when put into practice, the information I provide can help reduce long and difficult labors, birth trauma, and the amount of unnecessary interventions. My hope for you is a peace-filled, empowered birth with choices that make sense for you and your baby!
I offer birth classes, home birth classes, mini-courses for those who have a foundational knowledge of birth already. Click here to see current offerings. If you'd like personalized support for a particular issue you're facing (like inductions, postpartum mental health, breastfeeding, or loss), one-on-one consultations are also available. Not everyone has immediate access to prenatal, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding education and support, and I'm passionate about bringing my work to areas lacking that access. Click here to learn more about these programs and to support that vision!
