Childbirth Education

Pregnant Photography _edited.jpg

"If we understood the Magnitude of Birth as a gateway to transformation, everything in the world would change.

Not just birth, EVERYTHING.

We would no longer be a species of humans that mistreats people.

The inappropriate things we do would vanish."

Full Spectrum Childbirth Education

Songbird childbirth education classes are rooted in traditional Indigenous teachings and balanced with contemporary knowledge of the physiology of birth. They weave together our natural and instinctual ways of knowing with an understanding of the body, pregnancy, labour, and birth. There is space for the wisdom of plants, traditional medicines, and natural remedies to support and hold mothers through the challenges of this journey. At the heart of this work is the recognition that birth is a sacred rite of passage, not only for mothers but for the families and communities who walk alongside them. Through teachings that span pregnancy, labour and birth, and postpartum, families are supported with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate this profound life transition with connection, strength, and care.
